How we handle your data, our client-side storage architecture, and third-party integrations.
Welcome to TechTube ("we", "our", or "us"). We built TechTube to be a distraction-free, privacy-first platform for developers. This Privacy Policy explains our data practices.
TL;DR: We do not require accounts, we do not have backend databases storing your personal information, and our developer tools run entirely locally in your browser. However, we do use third-party APIs (like YouTube) to serve content.
A core principle of TechTube is our static client architecture. When you use our Developer Tools (e.g., JSON Formatter, Code Converter, Calculator), all text parsing, calculation, and data manipulation occurs locally within your browser.
To provide a seamless experience without requiring a login, we use standard web storage technologies (LocalStorage and IndexedDB) to save your preferences directly on your device.
This local data may include:
Because this data is stored on your device, we cannot view, access, or recover it if you clear your browser cache or switch devices.
TechTube acts as an aggregator and interface for educational content. We use third-party application programming interfaces (APIs) to deliver this content.
We use the YouTube Data API and YouTube IFrame Player API to fetch and display educational videos. By using TechTube to watch videos, you are also agreeing to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
When you watch a video embedded via the YouTube API, YouTube/Google may collect information about your viewing behavior directly, as they would if you watched the video on their platform. We do not intercept or proxy this telemetry.
We use basic, privacy-respecting analytics (such as Vercel Analytics or Plausible) to understand aggregate traffic patterns (e.g., which roadmaps are most popular). We do not track individual users across the internet or sell data to ad networks.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will indicate the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
